Texas Chainsaw 3D Review

texas-chainsaw-3d-reviewYear: 2013

Director: John Luessenhop

Summary (from IMDb): A young woman travels to Texas to collect an inheritance; little does she know that an encounter with a chainsaw-wielding killer is part of the reward.

Short Review: I’ll try to make this quick: This is the worst Texas Chainsaw Massacre to ever grace a movie screen.

The only good thing about Texas Chainsaw 3D is the introduction montage using the original footage from the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre (that reminds us how creepy and impactful Tobe Hooper’s film was). The problem with such an intro? Well it makes everything that comes after look even worse.

Apart from some nice eye candy (ass and cleavage shots are plenty) and 1 or 2 kills (one guy got cut in half by a chainsaw) there is nothing in Texas Chainsaw 3d that hasn’t been done before and better.

And how stupid the people behind this sequel think their audience is? I mean, those events from the first movie happened in 1974 and this follow-up is supposed to take place in 2012. So for a 38 years old, our main character looks bloody hot. I want to know what her diet is. And don’t get me started on Leatherface who is probably in his late 50s or early 60s and strong as ever.

Like this insulting script was not enough, the ending is just over the top ridiculous and we are supposed to believe that a girl who has just seen her friends killed by a psychopath would act the way she does at the end (Do your thing Cuz; WTF!!??)!! No comment.

Texas Chainsaw 3D is just another big studio horror movie trying to cash in on an old lucrative franchise. Re-watch the original or even the 2003 remake which was way better than this piece of crap.

My Rating: 3.5/10
